George Fishley Fremington Devon pottery slipware watch stand early 19th century

A very rare earthenware George Fishley Fremington pocket watch stand in slipware. This piece is profusely decorated with an assortment of sprigs, trailed and stamped details. Some of the sprigs are of farm animals, foreigners and bunches of grapes. Interestingly, and a rare addition ,is the stamped impressed name of G.Fishley and Fremington all in capitals at each corner of the base. George Fishley (1770-1869) was one of the most prominent potters at the famous Devon Works and his marks make this an item of historic academic importance.
