An exceptionally fine quality pottery bull baiting figure group with tree trunk .The decoration of the base and the tree is a green translucent lead glaze applied directly to the biscuit body, the bull and dog are coloured in underglaze oxides. The modeling is very well defined with good attention to detail.
This rare figure was produced in Staffordshire in the late 18th century.
